Chocolate Caramel Layer Cake

Chocolate caramel layer cake

Baked a Chocolate Caramel Layer Cake for my brother’s birthday. It’s a three layered chocolate cake with caramel frosting in between the layers and dark chocolate ganache all over. Also caramelized nuts on the top! Way awesome 😀 I know u would want to ask what is different from the earlier recipe on the blog- “Chocolate Cake with caramel buttercream and roast almond filling“. Well the caramel is different. This isn’t a caramel buttercream. It’s silky golden caramel made with condensed milk. It only takes 15 minutes to get this caramel together. The brown sugar lends it this gorgeous golden […]

Coffee Cake

Summers have never been my favourite. The heat is just intolerable. Phew! I am a winter person. I love the winters. It is such a happy season. Wish we could have a shorter summer here 🙁  Anyways, I have been avoiding baking for a long time because my sister has been away. She has been traveling. She is someone who always appreciates and criticizes my baking. Hence, her presence is absolutely essential for my baking ventures 😀 She is returning tonight so thought of baking something for her. Jyotika loves muffins or a coffee cake with her breakfast. Her eyes light […]

Pastel Layer Cake with White Chocolate Buttercream

Pastel Layer Cake

Pastel Layer Cake with White Chocolate Buttercream Hello folks!! How is it going?? Full fledged summers are finally here with the temperatures rising everyday. Phew!! My mother thinks that I am going to bake less often now as the weather is so hot and sultry. But she doesn’t know, baking has nothing to do with the weather. You just need an idea to pop in your head to ignite the baking expedition. Today’s idea- “A Pink and Blue Pastel layer cake with white chocolate buttercream” sprung in my head because of my recent impulsive baking shopping 😀 On my recent […]

Baked Mini Donuts

Baked Mini Donuts

Hello lovely people! It’s been a long time I baked something. First the Navratras and then the laziness :D. Frankly I have been very lazy lately to bake anything. And even this recipe is a no-fuss recipe.    I love donuts and this is a baked version which is so effortless and quick. Since it’s not fried, it’s healthier than the regular donuts. Another reason to try it! My sister had gifted these mini donut tins a while ago and finally I got time to experiment with these.  These adorable cute little baked mini donuts are so light and lovely, […]

Blueberry muffins

Blueberry Muffins

It’s not very easy to find blueberries in Indian markets. I had been trying to find them for a long time. And then these lovely blueberry muffins were born when I finally saw blueberries at Natures basket. This is a fine place to look for all fresh and frozen fruits! These gorgeous muffins are stacked with juicy blueberries. Perfect for your breakfast or lunch or evening snack 😛 Basically you can eat them whenever you feel like if they last that long! Mine were eaten up the same day they were baked.  It’s a easy recipe and will not take […]

Tutti Fruity Cake

Tutti Fruity Cake

This is my dad’s favourite cake. He has been getting this cake from an old bakery since our childhood. He loves it. In my attempt to bake it, I had to make sure it tasted at least similar to it, if not better. It’s always a risk to bake something that can be compared to a classic. Phew!!   But luckily, he was totally impressed with it. I heard him telling mom-If she can bake it even better than his, why should I get it from outside! Voila!! That’s a huge compliment for me, because it’s really hard to get dad to appreciate […]

Pineapple Upside Down Cake

I am a chocolate person all the way, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have a thing for fruits too 😀 Okay, I like only certain fruits and I like them less than chocolate, peanut butter and caramel! I got my room walls painted a bright yellow once and my brother whom I then shared  my  room with was pissed off with me until the next whitewash 😛 ) “Bright yellow with some red” mood, Do you get the hint 😉 YES, […]

The Checkerboard Cake

Checkerboard Cake

I have been eyeing the checkerboard cake on pinterest for months now. But, without the Wilton checkerboard cake pan set, it seemed a dream.   But a little research on google lead me to several recipes for baking it without those special pans. Though, it seemed complicated and too much effort , but intriguing at the same time 😀 Several recipes later, I finally found a very simplified version on Fauzias kitchen. So, basically you need 2 different coloured cakes and lots of frosting. I opted for chocolate and vanilla cakes. And, its always better to bake the cakes 1 […]
