My mother loves her tea, just as much as I love my coffee. I remember, when I was growing up, she used to drink about 15-20 cups of tea in a day! Gradually, I made her understand that tea isn’t any energy tonic and she shouldn’t abuse it so much.
Although very resistant and stubborn initially, she drinks only 1 cup of tea nowadays. And she totally loves her tea-time. She wants it in her favorite cup and with her favorite cookie or a slice of home baked coffee cake.
Occasionally, she drinks her tea with few pieces of dark chocolate. This combination was amusing to me until I tried it. Strangely though, the unusual flavors of the chai work well with the chocolate! Hence, these Masala Chai Brownies were created to celebrate this discovery :P. The deep, dark flavors of the chocolate blend amazingly with the warm chai spices. And the entire kitchen and house gets filled with the warm aromas of these Masala Chai Brownies. So good :).

High on chocolate and butter, these brownies are a treat for your eyes too! The shiny, glossy and crackly tops won’t allow you to resist them!! The recipe is very simple and comes together in less than an hour. And the result is deep, dark and pure indulgence.
Currently, I am in a love-hate relationship with these Masala Chai Brownies :D. I love them because of the amazing pairing of chai and chocolate. And I hate them too, because it’s hard to just eat one slice!
The Masala Chai Brownies are so moist and fudgy that you are bound to have chocolate stuck all over the knife when you try cutting in!!
