The recipe for these Healthy Chocolate Banana Waffles makes for an indulgent yet guilt-free breakfast. These are naturally sweetened with date syrup
Combine oat flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Stir in chopped walnuts.
In a separate bowl combine bananas, coconut oil, eggs, milk, date syrup and vanilla.
Add wet ingredients to dry and stir to combine. Let mixture sit for 10-15 minutes.
Heat the waffle maker and brush with some coconut oil. Add additional milk to the mixture if too thick. Add batter to your waffle maker and cook according to waffle maker instructions.
Repeat until all the batter is used.
Serve immediately with maple syrup, fresh fruits, nut butters or toppings of your choice.
If you are making these for a large group, preheat a sheet pan in your oven at 200 F or 95 C. As waffles get ready, place them on the sheet pan and return the pan to the oven. When you are ready to serve your family , just remove the waffles from the sheet pan and place them on a platter for serving.
