This Mocha Chocolate Cake is every coffee lover’s dream cake. The moist mocha sponge cake is filled with a dark chocolate ganache and frosted […]

Tiramisu (Eggless)

Tiramisu Eggless

Tiramisu is a popular coffee flavoured Italian dessert.  In Italian, Tiramisu means “Pick me up”.  The legendary dessert tastes so heavenly that it can actually “Pick you up” from the darkest of slumbers. The refreshing and dreamy tasting Tiramisu is like a Trifle pudding comprising of distinct layers.  The bottom layer is formed by espresso coffee soaked ladyfinger biscuits. A fluffy liquor spiked mascarpone cheese and cream mixture forms the next layer. And lastly, cocoa or shaved chocolate makes the final impression! Most traditional Tiramisu recipes use raw eggs in the mascarpone filling to give it a thick and creamy […]

Chocolate Espresso Mousse Cake

chocolate espresso mousse cake

Chocolate and espresso together in one title immediately lights up most eyes!! The Chocolate Espresso Mousse Cake was baked to celebrate my mom’s birthday. My mother is very diet conscious and is always upset when I am in the kitchen experimenting with my staples -butter, sugar and flour. So a week before her birthday she requested me to bake something light and healthy for her big day. Although her request was a big turnoff for me, but I was compelled to consider it. And Thank God I gave into it! The Chocolate Espresso Mousse Cake was so delicious and sinful […]

Muffins are probably the simplest goodies one can bake. No multiple bowls required for frostings or fillings and no extra efforts to be made for garnishing. That’s what we call convenient baking!! The chocolate muffins have a coffee walnut streusel that instantly lifts up your mood and leaves you with a smile on your face :). Instead of using butter that keeps the streusel together and lends the crumbly texture, I have used the Bailey’s Irish Cream Liqueur in these Bailey’s Coffee Streusel Muffins. The […]

Summers have never been my favourite. The heat is just intolerable. Phew! I am a winter person. I love the winters. It is such a happy season. Wish we could have a shorter summer here 🙁  Anyways, I have been avoiding baking for a long time because my sister has been away. She has been traveling. She is someone who always appreciates and criticizes my baking. Hence, her presence is absolutely essential for my baking ventures 😀 She is returning tonight so thought of baking something for her. Jyotika loves muffins or a coffee cake with her breakfast. Her eyes light […]

Coffee Streusel Cake

Coffee Streusel Cake

Usually we like our  everyday  cup  of coffee with cookies. But on some days you want something special with it 🙂 That’s the reason for baking this Coffee Streusel Cake. A coffee cakedoesn’t necessarily mean that it has coffee in it. Any cake that you can have with coffee is a coffee cake 😀 no specific  definitions for this one.   This one has a chocolate coffee flavoured streusel in it and has been baked in a Bundt pan. Streusel cakes look lovely when baked in a bundt pan, because you can appreciate the streusel much better in them. The recipe is a personal favourite and I have baked it several times before. Adapted from the […]
