There are days when you have a sudden craving for a chocolate dessert! And you don’t want to spend hours in kitchen mixing batters and piping frostings . Basically, you need a dessert just NOW! That’s when this 1 minute Eggless Chocolate Mug Cake recipe will come handy!

Trust me, the cake turns out so moist and yummy that it satiates all kinds of chocolate cravings. The batter takes less than 5 minutes to prepare and only one bowl is used. It’s then poured in a microwave safe cup and baked on high power for 1 minute.

The Eggless Chocolate Mug Cake is a perfect dessert to whip up after a heavy dinner when you need just a small bite of chocolate goodness. I had tried several mug cakes before finding this recipe which was perfect for my liking. It’s moist, rich and chocolatey. All credits for the recipe go to Julie from Tablefortwo :).
I love to add a dollop of vanilla ice-cream on the Mug Cake when I want to indulge. But on usual days, I either dust it with cocoa powder or caster sugar. Depending on how I am feeling that day :D.

The Eggless Chocolate Mug Cake is a dream dessert for chocolate lovers. Baking for the first time? You can’t go wrong with this!

Ingredients
  • ¼ cups All purpose Flour
  • 2 tablespoons Cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Baking powder
  • ¼ cup + 1 tablespoon Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Nutella or any chocolate spread or peanut butter
Instructions
  1. Mix all the dry ingredients together in a bowl. Add the oil and milk. Combine and mix the batter until smooth and chocolatey.

  2. Pour the batter in a microwave safe mug.

  3. Drop a spoonful of nutella in the centre of the mug.

  4. Microwave at the highest power for 1 minute.

  5. Let cool for few minutes before enjoying! 

Recipe Notes

All microwave ovens have different heating. So a little adjustment might be needed.

Before baking, I top the batter with a tablespoon of Nutella or Peanut butter. This results in an even more moist cake with a dreamy center. The texture is just amazing! The Eggless Chocolate Mug Cake is a quick dessert for those last minute cravings!

  1. Oh how I love mug cakes! One time I went to the gym and when I came home, I had such a big craving for chocolate cake, so I decided to make a chocolate mug cake!
